The Real Himhotepp

Himhotepp

The very name strikes fear into mortals and the Forsaken alike.  The power of Himhotepp is felt throughout his realm – Darkspear – and even bleeds over into other realms.

His story begins several millenia before he was awakened by the Lich King.  Then, he was the God-King of Ægyptus, and like many of the other Forsaken, had lived a full and powerful life.

He was tutored in the Arts by none other than Ra-Poor-Kraat, his Chief Advisor and possibly the greatest Magi ever to walk the planet.  He was a talented student, with a penchant for the cold and water based magic.  He even dabbled in necromancy and dæmonology under Ankhotepp, his father and mentor, himself a warlock of no small renown.

His rulership was marked by war, at which Himhotepp demonstrated a strategic and tactical prowess that surpassed even his heroes.  His enemies fell one after another to the might of his army.  He was the first to use combined arms tactics – using mounted cavalry, armored foot-soldiers, and battle-magi together in well trained tactical units.  His use of terrain and available resources, as well as slaves and occasional mercenaries made him the most feared ruler in all the realms.  Even the mighty Elven kingdoms kept a respectful eye (and distance) from the Ægyptian Warlord.

Himhotepp died at an advanced age, of complications from a failed assassination attempt.  He lived long enough to bring the assassins, and those that had hired them, to the executioner’s table, but he died not long after they did. He was succeeded by his heir, Hamuneptra, a promising Warlock of surpassing grace and power.
